Reporting to, the Head of Quality, the Quality Assurance Lead is responsible for driving and maintaining best practice standard for manufacturing. He/She will co-ordinate all the activities of the site QA team to meet customer requirements and QA compliance targets through communication & coaching of our internal customers.

Core responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:

• Attend Stage Gate & Spec review meetings;
• Assign and complete investigations into customer complaints;
• Site point of contact for customer visits and audits (including internal audits);
• Quality performance on a daily, weekly and monthly basis at the relevant forums;
• Audit feedback, quality issues and quality developments (i.e. legislation changes );
• Measure close out of technical issues, NC’s, CAPAs, Supplier issues, Hygiene, Documentation;
• Maintain accreditation & liaise with DAFM on site quality issues;
• Ensure production planning is compliant with legislation, standards & customer requirements;
• Manage and continuously improve the entire QA Program for the site including sampling plans, policies, procedures, and specifications, focussing on robust solutions to issues raised;
• Develop and instil Food Safety behaviours across the site;
• Coach, develop, train and up skill employees in to enhance knowledge and understanding;
• Assign team members to relevant projects, PS, meetings.

Candidates for this position must possess:

• Science Degree in a relevant discipline;
• 5-10 years’ experience in a Food Manufacturing Environment;
• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
• A Team player with the ability to influence others at all levels in the organisation;

Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, the DFI Lead Buyer is responsible for managing the procurement of all related spend for the business. The role is based in Mitchelstown and is part of the Supply Chain team, but will involve significant cross functional interaction. The key deliverable of the role is to ensure that Dairygold achieves best value for allocated spend.

Core responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:

• Ensuring that the business is comprehensively supported with a consistent flow of scheduled, quality materials & services from high-performance and price-competitive supply sources;
• Negotiating with Suppliers for the delivery of the purchasing budget and targeted savings and writing effective Supply Contracts to secure optimum purchasing outcomes

• Ensuring that Dairygold full purchasing spend is effectively leveraged in this area;
• Measuring key Supplier contract performance on a monthly basis across all the critical procurement parameters;
• Identifying and presenting Value Analysis opportunities to the Business and exerting influence for change towards cost-effective substitute materials and/or alternative supply sources in a Continuous Improvement environment;
• Working with Group & Site Management to ensure that Group-approved strategies, policies and procedures are adhered to in the procurement;
• Maintain the end-to-end procurement process from the price catalogue through to monitoring and reporting on the budgetary impact of transactions;
• Liaise with other functions to ensure that the approval and qualification of suppliers accords with best practice and legal parameters;

• Inventory control in conjunction with sites of relevant material;
• Participation in Continuous Improvement Initiatives and other projects as required

Candidates for this position must possess:

• Third level degree and/or masters qualification in a relevant discipline, Membership &/or certification of IIPMM or APICS
• 8+ years’ experience in a similar role is desirable.
• Strong business acumen and commercial awareness.
• Awareness of the key factors influencing price movement coupled with an awareness of trend-lines and emerging technology innovations across the spectrum of purchased materials that could potentially deliver benefits to DFI’s business profitability.
• Proven working relationship with people.
• Excellent influencing skills & ability to work with minimal supervision and, at times, on a multiplicity of time-constrained, conflicting tasks
• A positive and flexible attitude and self-starting ability.
• Strong IT skills are essential. Previous exposure to an ERP system and knowledge of Oracle is advantageous.
• Detailed knowledge of modern procurement procedures for the specific area
• Knowledge of “lean principles” is desirable.
