    Dairygold Co-Operative Society Limited is now pleased to invite applications for the positions of Lab Technician (x3), in our Central Laboratory in Mitchelstown within the Dairy Food Ingredients Division.

    Reporting to the Lab Manager, the Laboratory Technician is responsible for the timely completion of testing samples ensuring accurate results are returned to the operations and quality functions to enable compliance with food safety, legal and customer requirements.

    Core responsibilities for this role include:

    • Carry out chemical/ microbiological analysis as per relevant plans for In Process samples.
    • Take In-Process samples when required.
    • Attend Weekly VM meetings.
    • Chair weekly VM meetings as required.
    • Participate in Continual Quality Improvement and problem solving resolution.
    • Calibration of Laboratory/ Production equipment and involvement in the set-up, commissioning and running of new Laboratory/ Production equipment, including new techniques.
    • Creating and delivering training packages to Laboratory/ Production personnel.
    • Auditing of Laboratory/ Production systems.
    • Provide internal customers with a first class level of service.
    • Use of all software systems.
    • Ordering of stocks and consumables.
    • Utilise IT technology and Dairygold systems to record results.
    • Sign off paperwork as required by lab standards.
    • Active participation in continuous improvement activities including but not limited to 5S implementation, auditing, work groups, PSE/ RCA.
    • Where applicable maintain Quality control charts to verify accuracy of testing/ instrumentation.
    • Adherence to H&S requirements for all tasks.
    • Transfer to other sites to complete testing in the event of equipment breakdown or to transfer standard samples to verify accuracy of equipment at other sites.

    Candidates for this position should possess:

    • Recognised Science qualification.
    • Experience in Chemical and Microbiological analysis.
    • Computer literate with knowledge of Excel, Word or other MS packages.
    • Experience in working as part of a team.
    • A positive, can-do, resilient and flexible attitude.
    • Understanding of Customer service.

    Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, the DFI Lead Buyer is responsible for managing the procurement of all related spend for the business. The role is based in Mitchelstown and is part of the Supply Chain team, but will involve significant cross functional interaction. The key deliverable of the role is to ensure that Dairygold achieves best value for allocated spend.

    Core responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:

    • Ensuring that the business is comprehensively supported with a consistent flow of scheduled, quality materials & services from high-performance and price-competitive supply sources;
    • Negotiating with Suppliers for the delivery of the purchasing budget and targeted savings and writing effective Supply Contracts to secure optimum purchasing outcomes
    • Ensuring that Dairygold full purchasing spend is effectively leveraged in this area;
    • Measuring key Supplier contract performance on a monthly basis across all the critical procurement parameters;
    • Identifying and presenting Value Analysis opportunities to the Business and exerting influence for change towards cost-effective substitute materials and/or alternative supply sources in a Continuous Improvement environment;
